Crazy 98 Objects Read Mev1.000

After I saw what was possible, with object conversion with the Zanarkand and track, it inspired me to do my own conversions. I know any conversion is now possible to NR2003, especially since it not even a windows game, via a PS2 emulator.

This came about due to not having good skills in Blender, and working out: how can I use a ready-made object for NR2003?

All my objects and materials are free to use, as they were free in the first place.

Features
-Never seen before objects in NR2003
-Already well mapped (There are no bits of transparent areas sticking out).
-Low Polygon count under the limit (MTMs might be much lower) this does not mean a reduction of quality.
-Priority is upped to 4, for a sharper image via WinMip2, and seen at all distances is ticked. I have kept the original encrypted file name for posterity.
-Mip files with same 3do (name easier to find).

Notes on Start Lights
-I have decided not to include these because they are mostly the same for every track so most will be repeated. Also I do not know how to do switch state descriptors (a mip that changes it's state in caution) so I'll include these separately with the inferno pool caution light to stick into them for now. It is likely I will ask for help with these in a technical tip thread.

Trees
-I do not know how to do a 2D object yet. Not included

Track Textures
- I have not released the surface track textures as they are in hundreds of tiny 28x28 squares and if I do end up recreating a circuit from the game, it is likely that I may use different ones. When enlarged they are in a low quality. This does not happen in the game itself.

Dinosaur
-Textures not working, left out

Billboard Mapping
-Sorry I have no idea how to do a retexture on these, open up the mip and you’ll find out why.
Any further details would be included in an update e.g. horizon, which does not have a ground texture yet. Start lights, and an alternate billboard to the missing billboard at one of the corners.

If you want to know how I did my objects

I actually used Mystical’s tutorials, I watched mainly parts II -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LawB374lyA0 (Part 2) and III -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkJKu8kYXDs (Part Three) which was the most important, save to 3do format, I worked out that I didn't need to make an object from scratch; I just needed to learn to save it to the correct format.

*Ignore X + D smiley face its just stunod playing up see inside readme for link*

I also had Zmodellerv1.07b, which turns out to extracts .bin models into 3DS files, which is very readable by 3D Sim Ed.
If you are a MTM track maker, it is good that all the models already have a vertices limit so it's nowhere near 3000~ or so vertices.

I will release a full tutorial on how exactly I did it in the future forum, under Tips Tutorials and How To, including a FREE 3D Sim Ed 3 to use (sorry if you have already purchased it).

(Use To Get Free 3D SimEd (Search was 3D sim Ed Crack))

Please read the comments.

More people should take up sandbox track making, it is nowhere near as hard as I thought it would be... and it is making the game better.

Let me know if the objects are not working correctly and I will try to redo them. Any help on anything concerning these e.g. start lights and texture mapping on a billboard would be appreciated

Enjoy them!

nice stuff, thank you sir or maam
Nice! always great to have some more TSOs free to use :D
I second the point about Sandbox not being as tough as I thought it would be, I just finished my first track: the key is to have a clear goal in mind and not settle for things that are wrong, learn how to make them right. It takes a long time and a lot of work, but it doesn't take Albert Einstein's genius, just dedication - and at the end, it's SO satisfying to race around a track you made!
More objects are good. Going to second the suggestion to look at the scaling of the backhoe -- it looks a little big. The portajohn also looked a tiny bit big, but I checked some specifications for a real one and it was fine. Doing a texture swap on the WCW Billboard will be more annoying than difficult, but the warning is appreciated.

As far as the 2D objects are concerned, I think what you'd need to do is have the trees billboard, which is simple to do, but kind of annoying.
While more people putting up objects is always appreciated and I've only dropped the backhoe onto a track so far, I think the scaling should be revisited because the backhoe seems too large.
