WMMP_2020d_PST_promo1.jpg

Nestled at the gateway of New Hampshire's Franconia Notch and the majestic White Mountains Presidential Range, lies this gem of a quarter-mile bullring. This track was originally created for NR2003 back in 2009 by our friends and former PST track editors Aaron Maynard and Matt Gilson. After watching the two Whelen Modified Tour races held there to capacity crowds in 2020, we wanted to put our PST "stamp" on an update to this great little track.

Much in this track has been changed and updated from the original WMMP 2009 version. In total, there are over 100 change items from the original. This is a partial list of the many updates and new features you will see in these new 2020 day and night versions:

• New billboards with accurate 2020 sponsor graphics.
• New grandstands and 3d crowd objects throughout.
• New frontstretch main tower object and miscellaneous other building objects.
• New turn 3-4 pit area officials tower, snack bar and tech building objects.
• New accurate catch fencing texture.
• New tire barrier objects along walls.
• New Jersey barrier wall objects from turn 1 to turn 3 pit entry.
• New grass, pavement and wall textures throughout.
• New Light towers.
• New higher definition 3D tree objects.
• New 3D rumble strips in corners.
• New flag stand to resemble real life flag stand.
• New single lane pit stalls behind turns 3 and 4 with 30 working stalls.
• New pit area populated with haulers to resemble the real facility.
• New custom horizons to resemble real-life view of NH's White Mountains.
• Extensive reshaping of terrain and elevations (x-sections) in Sandbox.
• Dynamically lit objects.
• Enhanced and improved a.i. featuring 2 racing grooves.
• Improved night environment with PST session progressive night skies.
• Plus many more new features too numerous to mention.

The track holds a huge starting field of 30 cars and features awesome tight door-banging racing action. Traffic is tight and passing is difficult, so you have to exercise patience and wait for openings. In addition to creating a tough, but satisfying racing experience against the A.I., we worked very hard to recreate all of the buildings, grandstands, objects, horizons, surroundings and distinctive details of this picturesque racing facility. Numerous reference pictures and videos were collected, studied and reviewed to help with this detailing.

This PST track is another graphics-rich track with many high resolution objects and details that may tax the ability of some computers. If you are experiencing difficulty running this track and your frame rates are dropping below 30 FPS, we might suggest installing the 4GB Patch offered at NTCore.com (https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371). Also consult and try implementing the Performance Guide suggestions at the BB-MC website at: http://bb-mc.co/performance-guide/

In closing, I want to acknowledge my PST team members Mike Ehresman, Ben Althen and Ian Smythe who all spent considerable time making miscellaneous contributions to this project. I also want to again give a shout out to Aaron Maynard (the "Voice" of the American-Canadian Tour, Thunder Road Speedbowl and WMMP) and Matt Gilson who were both essential in creating the original WMMP 2009 track for NR2003.

Finally, PLEASE read the CREDITS README file provided with the track for very important info on the A.I. and how to get the best experience from it. It also includes interesting background and history on WMMP. It has been my pleasure recreating another important New England short track. Enjoy "Thunder In The Mountain!"

Unfortunately, there's just not enough room for 40 pit stalls on this short track.
Absolutely Awesome, Thanks You!
