Hello everyone, 3KM here, with another real life paint scheme!
This time, I stayed with the Petty drivers, and that's because this idea literally came to me while I was making the Bobby Labonte Speed Racer paint scheme, because I was looking for pictures of Labonte's 2008 car to get all the details I needed, and between some things, I looked up the 2008 cup roster and I noticed Terry Labonte ran some races for Petty in '08, something I actually didn't know until now. And then, I looked up his paint scheme, and this is what I found:
And I was pretty impressed with them, because they reminded me of what preciesly they were trying to resemble with those paint schemes (and in fact, the sponsor in those schemes), the cars used in the Richard Petty Driving Experience, most specificially and obviously, the CoT versions of it:
And as a child, I've always loved t his paint scheme, maybe because of the cyan, blue, white and red combo which led this beautiful car.
I actually discovered this car because it also appeared as one of many of the fantasy drivers in NASCAR 09 (and only in here because the RPDE car in older nascar games was either the silver #126 car, or there was just no RPDE car at all). And I just loved it, it is to this day, one of my favorite paint schemes of all time, if not my favorite one.
However I knew that paint scheme was just not a real one (in the Cup series) and was just never going to be used for racing irl, because of the number placement (unless it was the ASA series I guess)
Howeveeeeeeeer, I just stumbled upon those Terry Labonte paint schemes, and it kind of felt like a dream come true for me, because after all, they're indeed, those RPDE paint schemes I thought it was imposible to see in a nascar race. Sure the Labonte ones had m,any modifications so they could be used the cup races, but I was still more than pleased anyways.
So, given that, I decided to recreate that paint scheme, and it is finally here.
