Chris Buescher - Chip Ganassi Racing

Chip Ganassi Racing really fell on hard times come the 2018 retirement of Dale Jr. Kyle Larson left them to go swoop up a ride at JRM, and by this point out of Jamie Mac and Larson, Larson was the only relevant driver. Jamie Mac would be lucky to get top 10s on a regular basis therefore forcing his retirement as well come 2018. Chip Ganassi tried Regan Smith for 2018 who did well but then they got Jeffrey Earnhardt for 2019 because he came with sponsorship and they had terrible funding. Earnhardt got top 20s on a good day, come the 2020 silly season it was announced Chris Buescher was looking for ride with sponsorship from Love's so Chip Ganassi picked him up. Buescher was expected to compete for top 10s from then on. Buescher himself ran with JTG from 2017-2019 racking up 2 wins and one chase effort in 2019. Since 2020 CGR has made the chase both years with Buescher, scooping up 4 wins in total and Buescher had a chase high of 7th in 2021. They're looking to be a threat for the championship in 2022.

Alon Day - JTG-Daughtery Racing

This was one of the bigger stories come 2020 silly season. JTG had lost both of their drivers. Chris Buescher because he failed to produce and wanted a fresh start and AJ Allmendinger who went over to Hendrick to replace the now-retired Jimmie Johnson. Alon Day tried his best to stay relevant, gaining lots of fans when he raced. In 2017 he went on to finish runner-up at both Mid-Ohio and Watkins Glen in the NXS for RCR and he won Canadian Tire Motorsports Park for Contreras in the truck series. In 2018 he won one road course, Mid-Ohio, and wrecked out at Watkins Glen and finishing last. He never competed in the truck series. In 2019 he raced a FT schedule with believe it or not, with Obaika Racing and finished 12th in the points winning Watkins Glen. In 2020 he made his cup debut with JTG not doing much and finishing 25th in the points. But in 2021 he won Sonoma and Martinsville making the chase and finishing 12th. A lot of people expect him to make it to the chase again because of road courses. Others ask, why does JTG always have the best road ringers?

I'm having a snow day out here so I got two more schemes done :p
Now it's just to wait to have them rendered.

Note: Brad K's scheme that was rendered isn't the final product. I also added Keselowski on the window banner and fixed that weird splotch of yellow on the front of the car.

a few of these are unrealistic such as Morgan Shephard and Kevin Conway. but 2022 is a huge ways into the future so i commemorate your attempt. and honestly an attempt at a truck/xfinity prediction is insane because most of the drivers will probably be ones that aren't even around right now.

Ever since Todd's first FT season in the 3 main series he hasn't failed to impress. In 2018 he won 3 races for KBM in the NCWTS leaving the season runner-up for the championship. In 2019 he returned for another season of NCWTS winning 6 races and the championship. Come 2020 he decided he was ready to move up and raced FT in the NXS for JGR. He won only 1 race but got a crap load of top 10s. That 1 win put him in the championship 4 but he only managed to finish 4th overall. Matt Tifft whom won the championship was pushed to FRR leaving Todd back in the NXS. In 2021 he won 4 races and the championship by a long shot. There was still no open Toyota spots left for him in the NSCS, but since FRR was slowly becoming more independent JGR started throwing money into a new team. TriStar Motorsports. They already fielded one car on the grid, but now they could field two and maybe be competitive. Nobody knows what to expect from Todd in 2022, maybe get 1 win if lucky but with this new JGR-TSM partnership only time will tell.

If you read this first, check my paints above bc why not.

But, I want opinions on something as I'm trying to keep this somewhat realistic (which is understandably hard for 2022). So, would I be better off making it so Morgan Shepherd runs Daytona only or should I make it do Jeffrey Earnhardt runs the whole season in the #89?

well i would get Morgan Shephard out of the picture for good because he'll be 81 in 2022. he's pretty strong but i'm sure he won't be racing by then. Kevin Conway i think hasn't raced in any series since 2013 either so i doubt he'd make a significant return to the cup series. (then again, i would've said the same thing about DJ Kennington)

Some drivers (or kids at this point lol) i'd recommend adding are Carson Hocevar, Tyler Dippel, Jake Griffin, and Macy Causey. some maybe still would be a little young, but defiantly would deserve a spot in the xfinity or truck series.

If you want a semi-realistic young driver that could run in NASCAR one day, how about Karsyn Elledge(Dale Jr's Niece)? She's 15 I believe, and has run some Late Model races already. (She might also go into acting, or business like her Mom, but as of right now she is racing).

I was doing some driver switcharoos. No more Conway and Shepherd. Did put Dippel there. I was trying to find as much young talent as I could, never thought of those others 3 though.

Casey Mears - JR Motorsports

After 2016 ended Casey Mears got the boot from Germain. Nobody knew what was next for him. He was a big reason that Germain was at where they are today but he wasn't extraordinary and he was getting older. In 2017 he never got a FT ride but raced a few races for Obaika and the road courses for BKR. In 2018 he got a FT season with RBR in the NCWTS where he finished 14th. 2019 was the same thing but he won Canadian Tire and Talladega finishing the season 4th. 2020 came where he actually got an offer to race NXS with JR Motorsports. He went over there picking up sponsorship from Geico after they got the boot from Germain and finished 4th overall once again. Winning Mid-Ohio. In 2021 he never raced FT because JRM moved up to cup and they went with a two car program that didn't include him. Mears raced Sonoma with JRM finishing 14th, Daytona which he DNQed at, and some races for Johnson-Sadler Motorsports in which he just beat out Kyle Busch for the win at Bristol. Come 2022 JRM announced they were expanding to a 3 car cup team and Mears with sponsorship from Geico would be the driver. He's expected to do well at road courses and super speedways and only mediocre otherwise. He also made it clear that this would be his last season and hopes to end it as his best.

OCC: I'm debating whether I should make the shade of green on the #9 a little darker so hmu with your thoughts on that please. Others opinions always help :)
