Hi guys and gals, I've spent a lot of time clicking around looking at the 3D Max 2019 interface, trying to get the ground to show up in my renders. I know the ground exists, I can click it and move it around. So I'm open for any suggestions. Is it a lighting issue? I'm not totally 3D Max savvy aside from manipulating the cars and hitting the render button. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks folks!

First, Do you have a ground plane created? Second, if you do, you need to apply a material or color to it, a material could be any type picture you wish, bare in mind that the output of this picture can be scaled to your liking, like say you have a pic of some bricks, you want them to be applied to your ground plane, once you do that and then render it, only one or two bricks show up larger that all getout, you'll need to scale them down in your material settings for the bricks in order to get several dozen to show up. Least that is how I understand it to work. Check youtube for vids, there are a large number there showing a whole host of things you can do. The version has little impact to these vids, you just can't open a scene created in max 2013 with max 9.
(to clearify this, you can open scenes downward, not upward in max versions)

For 3ds max 2019 ypu will need to look into using....Arnold/Art or scanline scene settings. No mental ray for 3ds max 2019. Nvidia has stopped it for all new versions. You could also invest in V-Ray or Corona.
A lot to take in, but that is the deal with max 2019, I have the student version, and am still working it out.

Interesting, yeah I'm downloading the Corona Alpha (my Corona Renderer 45 Trial ran out and I'm broke lol). It says it's a powerful render just unsupported. I'm gonna see if that ends up working for me. Thank you for you response
