Has anyone here tried this patch? I was skeptical but I tried it today and it works as advertised. I could never run a full field of 42 cars with the MENCS19 mod at the new Charlotte 2018 BB MC track without a bunch of artifacts showing up and then a crash to desktop. I applied the 4 GB patch to my nr2003.exe and now can run the track with 42 cars perfectly.

My own $0.02 on this is that this shouldn't be used as a means for modders of cars or even tracks to just simply "over bloat" file sizes (textures, etc...) simply b/c this exists. It should ALWAYS be considered to optimize things completely to ensure solid play and usability of the simulation, regardless of it's original construct of 32-bit or 64-bit. The fact remains that even with this patch the simulation, that being NR2003, is still a 32-bit application and will still have it's limitations. This is also considering the fact that the computer system applying this patch to has the resources and capability to handle what it provides. If the system applying this to doesn't have the GPU, CPU as well as the RAM available to accommodate it, just isn't going to be an advantage.

I can somewhat understand the craze of 4k uber-bloated textures for older simulations like NR2003. What I don't 100% agree with is the necessity to run such a patch in order to potentially enjoy new mods for NR2003, tracks included. I feel it is the responsibility of the modders to ensure optimization of the new content to still be able to perform under the constraints of the original 32-bit construct. Not saying that can't also create a version that can accommodate the use of this patch as well. That SHOULD be the responsibility of the modder to create BOTH usable versions and not just keep it one-sided and otherwise force the necessity of such a patch in order to even use the new content for the simulation. #DontLeavetheLittleGuyOut

Full Field 42 cars at Charlotte 2018 BB MC, and it ran smooth 59-60FPS. Try with full pit crews on, got a bit on lag in turn one.. Before I could only run 16 ahead, and 16 behind smoothly. So I'm happy with it.. Thanks Bill for the find..

This is such an important find, had no idea this was possible. I can now hit 55-59fps with the MENCS18/19 starting last with a full field of 2048x2048 cars using Daytona 2017 TE.

Before the patch I was getting 5-8 fps on the front and backstretch with this mod and track combo.

I'm running an I7 6700k @ 4.5ghz, 16GB DDR4 @ 3200mhz and a GTX1080 (non TI). I've patched my ancient Corel Paint Shop Pro X in the hope to find more stability.

Yep if you are a flight simmer that patch has been well known for years as being a sure way to combat OOMs. Glad it helps on NR2003. I'll have to look into applying that to my installation as every mod runs smooth except for the new 2003-05 mod.
