What about a track like Charlotte but both the front stretch and the back stretch have a dog leg?
I've seen like 5 of those, but I think some of them were plate tracks, IMO you can get better racing on road courses and short tracks in NR2003. It's rare that I download an oval longer than 1.25 miles long these days.

Agreed on too many 1.5 mile clones out there. there are definitely that. maybe an octogon shaped track with 8 equal straightaways wouldn't be a bad idea, like say 8 straightaways at about 1000 ft in length?

Houston DX was honestly a really good, unique 1.25-ish (I should know this and I don't, because I did a reskin of it, added some extra trackside objects, and cleaned up the AI in 2019) oval, turns 1 and 2 are a lot tighter than 3 and 4 are, you have to be on the brakes for it. It was supposed to be a real track, too, but it was never built, which is unfortunate, it would have easily been the best of the late 90s-early-00s cookie cutter tracks.

Not counting Roswell, Houston DX is the longest oval I've put any serious effort into cleaning up.

First off, THANK YOU for working on it and painting cars etc.
I haven't downloaded the mod yet and probably won't get a chance to until Monday or Tuesday. Is the mod new models or just some templates on the default papy bodies? And is there some place to get templates and carviewer files? Any render scenes?
Yeah ASA and Hooters ProCup photos are going to be quite scarce for good quality photos. I have always felt that in cases like that, "close" is usually good enough on these older sets. Facebook groups, with the drivers and teams in them are really really helpful though. I am sure you're in a few.
It's the regular cup models and the templates I'm using are the one's you posted from http://www.scsamods.msmdesigns.co.uk/

Yeah, sometimes close enough has to be enough but the tricky part is where to draw the line lol. I'm sure I have some hidden mental algorithm where total number of logos vs ones I can't find, how prominent the missing ones are etc. The car attached for instance, it has exactly one logo on the side of the car and I have no clue what it is (with some reasearch I might be able to find the one on the hood) and zero out of one would bother me a lot.
(the car attempted one race and failed)
