Computer dummy needs help

Hello all, so I’m new and a computer dummy. I have some stupid questions. I’m playing my NR2003 via original disk. I want to update but am unsure what a Mod is. Is it updated tracks, rules ( meaning new point system, playoffs, race segments, qualifying, etc...). Or is it just tracks or carsets and rosters. Since I’m not comp savvy I don’t want to get something I don’t need or want. Basically I want to run nr2003 but with everything updated to 2019/2020. Any advice or recommendation would be greatly appreciated. And yes I’m prepared for some harsh remarks for my stupid questions. Thanks all...

First and foremost, do you have the 1201 patch installed in your game???

Just to expand on what Tom is asking, in order to really get into adding content to the game, you have to update the game to last released update. If you do not have it (or aren't sure), you can get it here, under "Official NR2003 Patches." There should be instructions on how to install it (it may just be click-and-play, I don't remember).

Once you have the game updated (or if it already is updated), get back to us, and we will help with mods and such.

Not sure. I had to download something so my newer Windows 10 would run my original (disk) game. So... not sure if I’m running off the disk or whatever ever I downloaded. I will check and get back with... thanks for the timely response.

Hello again. Its been a busy month +, but now am back.... So I had a friend help me download the required no CD patch, 1201 fix, etc..... so far everything seems to be working well so now to my original quest for help. I simply would now like to "update" the game to current tracks, car sets, rules etc... Im not looking for fantasy tracks or any other series. I just want to get the game to basically current times. There are a bizillion mods out there and since Im a computer dummy as it is I dont want to download a mod that I dont want or need. Any advise or recommendations would be GREATLY
