No, the numbers next to your name is you and the numbers next to everyone else name is them, if name doesn't have a number next to it then it's A.I.

That's a part of on-line racing and having warp, honestly, if I don't go back it'll be because of the warp and no other reason. I honestly don't think dial up warp was this bad.

It wasn't. Satellite is horrible because of the latency/delay.

I'm thinking we need to change the core.ini 'send_every' lines, which are 3, to 1.

These are the lines I'm looking at:
net_lan_client_send_every=2 ; Client packet freq on LAN
net_lan_client_send_size=260 ; Client packet size on LAN
net_lan_server_send_every=2 ; Server packet freq on LAN
net_lan_server_send_size=772 ; Server packet size on LAN
net_mdm_client_send_every=3 ; Client packet freq on dialup
net_mdm_client_send_size=116 ; Client packet size on dialup
net_mdm_server_send_every=3 ; Server packet freq on dialup
net_mdm_server_send_size=116 ; Server packet size on dialup
net_server_port=0 ; Server port number (0 = default)
net_use_mdm_bandwidth_for_tcp_ip=1 ; Use modem bandwidthfor TCP/IP

If we change them to this, it might help:
net_lan_client_send_every=1 ; Client packet freq on LAN
net_lan_client_send_size=772 ; Client packet size on LAN
net_lan_server_send_every=1 ; Server packet freq on LAN
net_lan_server_send_size=772 ; Server packet size on LAN
net_mdm_client_send_every=1 ; Client packet freq on dialup
net_mdm_client_send_size=116 ; Client packet size on dialup
net_mdm_server_send_every=1 ; Server packet freq on dialup
net_mdm_server_send_size=116 ; Server packet size on dialup
net_server_port=0 ; Server port number (0 = default)
net_use_mdm_bandwidth_for_tcp_ip=0 ; Use modem bandwidthfor TCP/IP

I honestly don't know if it would work of if those are the lines being used but I think it's worth a try. I do recall that 10+ years ago, I was having trouble seeing cars that weren't directly in front of or behind me and I got it fixed but now, with the new install and computer, I'm back to not seeing cars that aren't directly near me.

Anybody with knowledge of those lines is welcome to chime in! :)

Something I've learned from NR2003 and GPL warp is that it guesses where the car will be, which puts it in the outside lane since it'll think you didn't turn. I passed once on the outside because it was the only lane but if a car is warping, pass it low to reduce the chances the server will think you are in the same place. And warping cars need to stay high and/or park to avoid incidents caused from the warp.

This weekend, I'll adjust the server core.ini and we'll give it a test if you like.

Congratulations to the podium! Sorry for the contact Jeb. Bill, sorry for the contact, nice save!

I've been asking around the satellite gaming community and there is no fix, that's why most of them do first person shooter games, racing is just to fast for it to keep up. Those who do race on satellite don't run NR2003S or GPL, they're just to old.

Phoenix '97 is up with race settings for testing! 94 miles, weather clear in the high 70s.

TIGG! Change the core.ini [connection] line "net_use_mdm_bandwidth_for_tcp_ip=" from '1' to '0' and see if that helps the latency. :)

Jeb takes the win in our little Stunod Boys race on the Delta server this morning...Tom had the car to beat, so we beat him with a Black Flag...:p Tigg failed to Finish with Mechanical Issues, he turned off his car....Highbank ran his normal "Lead From Behind" race
