Filling in Missing Schemes

  • You DO NOT need an account in order to download the content that we host....ONLY make an account if you plan to be an ACTIVE member.
  • After a lot of thought and conversations within the community, we’re happy to announce that Stunod Racing will not be shutting down. The incredible support we’ve seen from all of you has played a huge role in this decision, and we’re truly grateful to everyone who values and contributes to what makes this community so special.

We’ve been exploring ways to manage the costs of keeping Stunod Racing up and running, as the current expenses felt unsustainable. We considered moving conversations to Discord or creating a standalone site for file hosting, but those options didn’t really fit what most of the community wants or the experience we aim to provide.

Here’s the plan moving forward: Stunod Racing will remain open, but we’ll be making some changes to how files are hosted. There will be a few upfront costs during this transition, but these updates will help reduce our expenses over time and make things more manageable in the long run. We’ve been working with a few members and programmers to figure out the best solutions, and while there are still some details to iron out, we’re confident we’re heading in the right direction.

Thank you for sticking with us and being patient as we work through these changes. With your support, we’ll ensure Stunod Racing continues to be a place for creativity, collaboration, and connection in the racing community.

Stay tuned—we’ll share more updates soon!

Hey there!
I've been running a mock containing Cup, Busch, Truck, Arca, North and West divisions of Nascar, starting in 1989, for the last two years and have been noticing how there is a lot of older cars that aren't made for the carsets that I've found. It's difficult to get pictures of a good portion of cars but I've been searching through forgotten rides threads everywhere and checking RacingReference prior to each season I run to get a list of all the cars missing. There's still a ton of paint schemes I either have not found or have not created yet, but I am trying my best to fill out fields with as close to the real thing as I can. Below will be images of cars I have created and will hopefully create in the future as I continue through the years. I love expanding the fields in mods that don't have as much love in recreations like the present day mods, and I love to learn about all the forgotten drivers and their histories as I recreate their cars.

Note: If there is an image of a car that I have that doesn't have a recreation with it, I'd be more than grateful if someone could point me to a download if it exists, or assist in the process by helping me identify sponsors on the car, or if you can do a recreation of the scheme yourself and post it in the Downloads here. I would love any help in this project as it progresses!

1990 Bob Howard #89 Pennzoil Oldsmobile
Raced at: 1990 Winston West Series
Only drove in 3 races in 1990, only finished one. This is one of my first recreations and was not meant to be very accurate.

Did not make the #98 of Jerry Bowers as I dont have a Wholesale Truck Parts logo.

1992 Clay Young #50 Aflac Insurance Pontiac
Raced at: 1992 Talladega, DNQed at Daytona 500 and Both Atlanta events.
This was the best image I could find of the car, taken from the broadcast. Hard to make out any side logos so did my best approximations. A better quality image of the car would do wonders.
1721856228002.png1721856205119.png

1992 Dorsey Schroeder #90 Whistler Electronics Ford
Raced at: 1992 Daytona 500
Again, hard to make out logos on the side with only this image. A better quality image would help.
1721856477912.png1721856483345.png

1992 Denny Wilson #69 Windjammer Cruises Pontiac
Raced at: 1992 Watkins Glen
This was the last time in Winston Cup history that the #69 attempted a race.
1721856597270.png1721856607247.png

1992 Jeff Davis Van-K Karting Ford
Raced at: 1992 Winston West season and Phoenix combination race.
Davis bought this car from Roush Racing and attempted the field, this being his 2nd Nascar start in any division. Found a bunch of pictures and learned about this guy from his Facebook.
1721856785939.png1721856795870.png

1992 Mark Stahl #82 Pizza Chef Ford
Raced at: 1992 Atlanta II DNQ
A collection of 4 forgotten cars from Atlanta in 1992 surfaced on Twitter last year when I was working at painting some '92 cars. This and the #08 below are from there.
1721857037353.png1721857043904.jpeg

1992 Jeff Fuller #08 Vulcan Industries Pontiac
Raced at: 1992 Atlanta II DNQ
This was Fuller's 2nd Cup attempt. Uploaded an update to the original download to also have the interesting roof number design that is displayed on the real car.

I have just discovered while finding the images of the real cars again that Dr. Noise is doing a full 1992 carset with his high resolution templates. For that reason I most likely will not post any of the missing schemes left, at least until his carset is done as I have found cars in there that I have never seen or had on the backlog. He has them posted on his Facebook if anyone's interested!

1993 Mike Wallace #66 Duron Paints Pontiac
Raced at: 1993 Charlotte I, Charlotte II and Rockingham, DNQed at Dover II
Wallace drove this car for his Busch owner, Barry Owen, but also drove one race (Charlotte II) with Jimmy Means' #52 with Duron Paints, however due to not finding any images of the car, the one I created is technically fictional and I have not uploaded it. Side sponsors are from a diecast version of the car that I used as reference.
1721858292636.png1721858300784.jpeg

1993 Joe Nemechek #87 Cintas Chevrolet
Raced at: 1993 Watkins Glen and Michigan II
Joe took the step into the Cup Series after winning the title in his own team before taking over the Kodak #4 in two races at the end of the season. The only image I could find was a diecast.
1721858779020.png1721858791366.jpeg

1993 John Andretti #72 Harris Teeter Chevrolet
Raced at: 1993 Rockingham II and Phoenix
John Andretti made his first Nascar starts for Tex Powell's #72, running the last 5 races of the season. He also ran with Stratagraph and an unsponsored car, but I could not find images of the car.
1721858909371.png1721858922433.jpeg

1993(?)/1994 T.W. Taylor #02 Children's Miracle Network Ford
Raced at: DNQs at 1994 Daytona 500, Rockingham I, Richmond I
T.W. Taylor's final 3 races were ran in this #02 car, though outside of the Daytona Duels, I could not find images of him on track with the car as he DNQed all 3 events. The 1994 carset for NR gives 3 different paint schemes for the other drivers who ran the #02 car this year, and I am not sure if this was also his 1993 paint scheme.

Sat down and went through the 1990 list of Cup (and West combinations) that are missing from my currently known carsets. All I ask is if you either know if this car exists in NR and can direct me to the download of it, or if you have found an image of any of the cars I don't have images of, would be a massive help!

Missing Images of Cup Cars:
Daytona (#72 Unsponsored, #44 Unsponsored, #48 Unsponsored, #37 Unsponsored, #96 Unsponsored, #59 Unsponsored, #34 Allens Glass, #39 Unsponsored, #29 Booher Farms)
Richmond (#04 Unsponsored, #90 Diet Pepsi)
Rockingham (#2 Prego)
Atlanta (#16 Country Music TV, #96 South Limo)
Darlington (#48 Josiah, #74 Unsponsored)
Bristol (#2 Raven Boats)
Charlotte (#06 Days Inn, #72 Unsponsored, #88 Unsponsored)
Sonoma (#19 Pelco Video Systems)
Pocono (#13 Unsponsored, #54 Unsponsored, #74 Linville Home Builders)
Michigan (#2 Taco Bell, #23 Auto Finders)
Pocono II (#22 Plasti-Kote)
Watkins Glen (#2 Nice 'n Easy, #04 Curly's Chicken House, #13/#90 Top's Friendly Markets, #22 Otter Pops, #54 Chapel Lumber)
Michigan II (#91 Refrigeration Sales)
Bristol II (#41 G.M. Auctions)
Darlington II (#2 Napa)
Richmond II (#56 Gear Vendor)
Dover II (#09 Unsponsored, #70 Run-A-Bout)
Charlotte II (#64 Action Rent-To-Own)
Rockingham II (#2 KFC, #47 Sandoz Chemicals)
Phoenix (#2 Wide World of Maps)
Atlanta (#2 Nestle Crunch Ice Cream, #18 Realfruit Refresher, #29 Dealers Engine Sales)
**Theres also a lot of sponsors on the #98 of various supermarket chains, but the current carset only has 2, though they are the same scheme. I am unsure if that was the theme of the team for the year or not.**

Missing Images of West Cars:
Sonoma (#09 Webster Logging, #23 Freymiller Trucking, #24 Gear Engineering, #34 Power Burst, #73 Ross Corp, #93 Save Mart, #84 Unsponsored, #22 Unsponsored, #03 Sears)
Phoenix (#29 Custom Printing, #72 AM Plumbing, #73 Bank of California, #09 NW Loggers, #88 Bayside Builders, #91 Area Glass & Mirror, #36 Sycamore Concrete)

Cars with Images:
#2 V8 - Rick Mast's Richmond car
#91 Crossroads City of Corinth - JT Hayes' only start at Rockingham, only found a diecast
#91 Unknown - Edward Cooper drove the #91 in 1990 with different sponsors, found this on his Michigan HoF induction but no idea what car it goes to.
#50 Coors Light - Rich Vogler qualified for but did not start the first 1990 Pocono race, only found a diecast
#68 Interstate Batteries - Stanley Smith drove this at Talladega, have an image from the beginning of the broadcast, but I will have to search through the rest to see if there's a shot of the design.
#50 Auto Value - Ted Musgrave's debut at Michigan. The #90 behind for Buddy Baker is also unknown, but I cannot make out the sponsorship and RR says its unsponsored.
#90 Commonwealth Glazing - Charlie Glotzbach drove this at Richmond II
#93 Taco Bell - Troy Beebe's car from multiple races, he also drives the #2 for Ulrich once, and I am not sure if its the same scheme or not.
#82 Hooters - Mark Stahl drove this until his DNQ at Atlanta in 1991 made the sponsor move to Kulwicki.
#69 Ferrari of Los Gatos - Its the exact same as the 96 mentioned earlier in the thread except it doesn't have the custom #96 on the roof. Driven by Brent Kaeding.
#73 Ross Corp - Bill Schmitt drove this in the West season and in the combo race at Sonoma. I dont have any clue of what the color of the car would be.
#47 V8 - Jack Pennington drove this at Michigan II

Working on some 1994 schemes as the mock I'm running in tandem with these creations is starting up 1994. Danny Sullivan's Daytona 500 entry, his first attempt (and withdraw) from a Winston Cup series event was supposed to be in this car. Promo is a Pontiac, entry list says Chevrolet.

Usually if the manufacturer changes at the last minute it means that he probably crashed pontiac during testing and his backup car was a chevy. Unfortunately that could mean the real car looked very different, as low budget and teams that do few or a single race don't typically put as much effort into putting the full paint scheme on the backup car.

Haven't gotten around to painting any recreations recently. Still have some I want to work on but just haven't had much time to, hoping to get a few out in the coming months.

1991 Scott Gaylord #00 Oliver Manufacturing Oldsmobile
Ran at Sonoma in 1991 finishing 33rd, and DNQed at the Phoenix race. I'm not great at custom making logos or numbers so I did what I could with fonts that looked similar, but definitely not a perfect recreation.

Looks good.

However, I would try to match the contig decals in the front of the car (if you have pictures of it on the track) to what was really run. That can really improve the car, and take it to the next level. ;)

Oh for sure.
Is there any older contig sets out there that I can grab the numerous old logos from? I have Alan Harkleroad's 2017 set from when I was making cars back then but I haven't seen any older ones out. Just grabbed a 1992 arca set from here. I'll need to see if I can get any clearer pictures from the sides because I can't tell what half of them are on some of these cars.

I would talk to @Dr. Noise. He might be able to help you out there. ;)

I have found and downloaded Dr Noise's 1992 contingency set that I will use for the future. I will take a look at previous cars made that have good enough views of the sides and update if I can in the future.
