Just like that, with Ferrari and Williams' primary schemes done, the 1st leg of the F1 23 project was completed. I can finally work on the many, MANY alternative liveries that graced the 2023 season.

Turns out, this thing got put on the back burner, the development hell of my NR2003 projects. So here's Bobby Labonte's primary scheme from the Busch Series roster, and rookie Michel Jourdain Jr. This would be Jourdain's only official NASCAR Video Game appearance.

Thanks to the Primaries being complete, I can start work on the many, MANY Alternative schemes F1 teams decided to run this year.

Aston Martin x Valvoline - The British GP was Valvoline's 1st signed race with the organization, so AM decided to include a Valvoline Red and Blue splash onto their primary livery.

Alpine - Beginning in Baku, Alpine would return to the primary blue base livery as per usual. Still, the Mexican GP featured a twist since it came after Castrol overhauled its brand identity. Similar to the 2021 Qatar QP, Castrol's colors were featured as part of the base.

Haas - The American Team's gotta run an American scheme, especially with Andretti's entry looming over the horizon.

Oh Christmas Eve, on Christmas Eve, the project's not ready. Unfortunately, the 2023 iteration isn't coming out tomorrow due to the jacked-up number of Alternative schemes the 2023 season featured compared to the 2022 season. But instead of dwelling on that fact, here are the 1st two Alternative schemes for the Williams Racing team.

Williams - 4 Alts, and the two from Britain and Japan are completed. Williams ran this 800th Grand Prix alteration with the Union Jack to celebrate the organization hitting 800 starts (duh). Later, the Bolder than Bold Gulf design won the fan vote and ran at the Singaporean, Japanese, and Qatar Grand Prix.

Back at it with some remaining F1 liveries and one special Ford Mustang. After completing the WIlliams 800th GP anniversary liveries, I checked my Render Archive and found out that I was about to reach 1000 renders. To celebrate this occasion, I created a project around bringing the 2000 Universal Monsters promotion to the 2024 season, and David Ragan's Frankenstein Ford was the one to be render #1000. The project will be completed in 2024 due to my current focus on the F1 carset, so enjoy these renders.

Williams - The 3rd alt that the British drove during the 2023 season, this one gave them points at the Circuit of The Americas, or rather, after the race thanks to some DQs that affected Leclerc and Hamilton, boosting Albon and Sargeant to points-paying positions.

Ferrari - To celebrate their 2023 24 Hours of LeMans win with Antonio Giovinazzi, Ferrari returned to the Temple of Speed with dashes of Yellow and picked up some solid points with a 3rd and 4th courtesy of Sainz and Leclerc.

It's New Year's Eve Eve and I am stressing myself out trying to get this project completed before the clock hits January 1st, 2024. Still, no matters, here are some of the Alternative schemes that will be available for Scuderia Ferrari and McLaren when the project is published.

Ferrari - Heading into Las Vegas, the Scuderia turned back the clock to the days of Mario Andretti, as they brought in the Red and White that adorned Ferrari during his time.

McLaren - And speaking about turning back the clock, McLaren brought back patches of Silver to their rides for the British Grand Prix, a color utilized heavily when Vodafone and West Tobacco sponsored the operation. The Blackout design also returned to the Streets of Singapore with a Black and Papaya look, leading to Lando Norris almost winning the GP.

With the F1 carset finally done, I can work on the remaining Universal Monsters paint schemes, starting with the #12 of Ryan Blaney. If you remember the promotion, Robby Gordon was the other Cup driver that Universal Studios sponsored for the Charlotte Fall Race in 2000, and it would be a nice tie-in since Blaney is sponsored by Menards these days.

Next up in this rouges gallery of Universal Monsters, it's the Mummy, Denny Hamlin. Jason Leffler had the honors of driving the paint scheme back in 2000, hence the inclusion of his logo on the namerail, rather than Hamlin's usual signature

With the 2024 Cup Series season coming soon, I thought it'd be nice to cook up some Throwback concepts, even if sponsorship deals heavily limit the actual possibility of them happening.

For the #14 of Chase Briscoe, I chose Steve Park's Burger King Chevrolet he drove on a part-time basis during the 1997 Cup Season.

This project's not dead! Somehow. Yeah, it got sent to the depths of the backburner, but I should be cranking out a couple of more schemes in the upcoming days. Here is Bobby Labonte's Hunt's Chevy which was his Alt scheme in Total Team Control.

Fun Fact: The game and promo diecasts feature a completely different font compared to the one that was used on-track.

Another week, another 2005 Busch Series scheme this time, featuring J.J. Yeley and his #18 Vigoro Chevrolet. Fun fact, the real-life car had the numbers slanted towards the contigs, but the game has them in the Cup series slant because JGR was being JGR.

Another Chevy is off the mark with Bowyer's #2 Chevy. I used the ACDelco base that I created for the Thunder 2004 Busch carset as a reference, but completely overhauled it, making it look a lot better compared to the 2021 version.

Fun fact about Bowyer's TTC texture, it's just Ron Hornaday's texture from Chase for The Cup. It even has his namerail within the texture and no rookie stripes.

Quick note: 7 Schemes remain, those being Busch's #5, Crocker's #6, Truex Jr's #8, Martin's #9, Kenseth's #17, Hmiel's #32 and Newman's #39. Hopefully, I can get them done around early March.

Another scheme finished this week, and it's the #5 of Kyle Busch. 2005 starts his part-time reaping of the Busch Series as he moved up to Cup to fill the gap Texas Terry left after the 2004 season. At least the rest of the #5 crew consisted of Open Wheel Invaders and failed Development drivers.

The last Dodge painted for the Total Team Control Carset with Erin Crocker, part of the 6 Hungry Drivers promotion between Evernham and Unilever. She would be flanked by Buschwackers Kasey Kahne, Jeremy Mayfield, Bill Elliott, fellow Evernham Development driver Paul Wolfe, and OG Evernham Dev driver Casey Atwood. Despite the 6 Hungry Drivers promotion, 8 different drivers drove the #6 in 2005. Talk about a way of ruining your sponsor's promotional scheme.

The 2nd driver that makes up Roush's Busch Series Trio, this is the #9 Pennzoil Ford of notorious Buschwacker Mark Martin. Just a couple of more schemes left and the project will be completed.

Since Spring Break is right around the corner and this project taking 4 bloody years to complete, I decided to include some bonus schemes into the project. This is the #34 of Randy LaJoie, one of two Busch Series drivers that were scrapped from Total Team Control's Busch Series roster, whose textures were found last year. The other driver was Jason Keller, whose scheme I'm also making.

Both drivers were generally incomplete, lacking a driver photo and proper team assignment. Still, it's cool to learn that some of the Busch Regulars were planned to be included among the Rookies and Buschwackers of that game's roster.

From one cut driver to another, here is the #35 of Jason Keller and his McDonald's Ford. With Keller done and dusted, the last few remaining schemes are the #17 of Kenseth, #8 of Truex Jr, #32 of Hmiel, and the #39 of Newman.

Back to NASCAR drivers that were ACTUALLY featured in the game, here is the #32 of Shane Hmiel and his partially inaccurate WinFuel Chevrolet. Hmiel being completed means that I have finally reached the section of this project, which is absolutely insane considering it has taken 4 years to get this thing done.
