So i was messing around with the aero88 mod and when i went to open the game, the opening sierra video played but the game just crashed when it was over. I undid all the things I did, the issue was still there. So I figured why don't I just uninstall the game. I went to uninstall the game this error popped up (picture below). So I deleted everything on the game and I figured it would just ask me to remove nr2003 from the programs and features list. So I did that but It still popped up on the screen. Even worse, I ran the autorun.exe file on the disk, but it was telling me options if I already had the game installed. I clicked uninstall and the same error came up. I dont kniw what to do and I dont know what to do without this game.

The installer doesn’t give me the option to install it. The options are “play”, “uninstall”, or “quit” saying that the game is already installed

OK, since you deleted all the files, you'll now have to do a registry edit to remove all the orphaned keys left behind. Do a search on youtube on how to do this, it's very risky if you don't know what you'r doing,. One mistake and your pc might not start up after. Do not do this cause I said to do it, but I believe it's your last resort.

Another thing you could try, have any close by friends that have the same os and the game installed, you could get a copy of just the root folder, copy that to your drive, then try to uninstall again. You may need one track and the orig cup mod with that.

So first I went into regedit and deleted every file that had to do with the game. I went back to the auto run.exe and it gave me the option to install but it still had the catastrophic failure error. Then I installed the game on an old xp and copied the papyrus folder over to my c drive. I opened nr2003 and it told me that their was an installation error and it told me to reinstall the game. I went back to auto run.exe and it still gave me the install option, but when I clicked it.... catastrophic failure. I also tried uninstalling it from the control panel but still catastrophic error.

In regedit, you need to do a search for all listings for Nascar Racing 2003 Season, you may have missed one or two, they are located in several places, other than that, I don't know what to tell you. You could do a wild card search under Nascar*.* if I remember correctly.
