Missing 2001 Cars (Original Cup)

  • After a lot of thought and conversations within the community, we’re happy to announce that Stunod Racing will not be shutting down. The incredible support we’ve seen from all of you has played a huge role in this decision, and we’re truly grateful to everyone who values and contributes to what makes this community so special.

We’ve been exploring ways to manage the costs of keeping Stunod Racing up and running, as the current expenses felt unsustainable. We considered moving conversations to Discord or creating a standalone site for file hosting, but those options didn’t really fit what most of the community wants or the experience we aim to provide.

Here’s the plan moving forward: Stunod Racing will remain open, but we’ll be making some changes to how files are hosted. There will be a few upfront costs during this transition, but these updates will help reduce our expenses over time and make things more manageable in the long run. We’ve been working with a few members and programmers to figure out the best solutions, and while there are still some details to iron out, we’re confident we’re heading in the right direction.

Thank you for sticking with us and being patient as we work through these changes. With your support, we’ll ensure Stunod Racing continues to be a place for creativity, collaboration, and connection in the racing community.

Stay tuned—we’ll share more updates soon!

9-11 cars that had only small changes like the Hendrick cars

Henricks's cars had more than 'small' changes to be honest. Flags on the hood, I Love NY decals (however the #24 didn't have those), and 'GOD BLESS AMERICA' on the trunk.

If any cars had 'small changes', I would be looking @ the Petty cars. The #45 as far as I can tell, only had a small USA flag below the B-Pillar. #43 the same, but a flag on the hood too. As for the #44, they had the B-Pillar USA flag too, but had a bigger 'forever in our hearts' decal in front of the rear wheels that the other 2 Petty cars didn't have. None of them had the 'I Love NY' decals as far as I can tell, since the cars only added them on race day.

I had another question and you're the perfect person to ask. I can't find any pics or videos of Rick Mast's #91 Talladega-2 DNQ car. I ended up with 4 different versions of this car but R-R says it only ran that one time. Do you know which one is the right one that we should be using for that race?

1. Bama on hood, Bama on sides, Sauer's on rear TV panel (yellow & white car, red # w/ blue outline)
2. Bama hood, Bama sides, Bama rear (yellow & white car, red # w/ blue outline)
3. Bama Rich & Creamy hood, Sauer's sides, Sauer's rear (yellow & white car, red # w/ black outline)
4. Bama Rich & Creamy Mayo hood, Sauer's sides, blank rear (all yellow car, white #)

Thanks!

This one as far as I know. Only in the last few years did photos of the real car show up online. However, the 2 photos don't show the rear-end. So, that's just a guess on if it was BAMA or SAUER'S.

1730516539914.png I noticed michael waltrip's napa primary is slightly different than the one he used in the 500. There's no logo on the decklid and there's a ritz logo. Also, the brooks and dunn car marlin ran at dega is different than the one i have, the version i have is the one he ran at charlotte with the red spoiler.

1731245622373.png Random detail i noticed, ward burton's 500 car from that year didn't have a dodge logo underneath the b pillars. I am not sure what else is different, but some stuff just seem a bit different.

1731245643070.png also, bill elliott's front bumper had a different decal placement for "DODGE RT" logo, usually on the top, but in the 500 it's a bit different, I'm pretty sure most if not all the dodges had that decal placement for the 500. Jimmy spencer's 500 car also has a route 66 logo and some sort of white logo on the b pillar.

1732619537342.png Another not so noticeable detail, casey atwood's roof number in the 500 has a black outline, usually it's a white outline but in the 500 it's black like elliott's 500 car.

1732619752489.png Kyle petty also had somesort of square blue logo near the rear quarter windows, could be georgia pacific ? Not really sure tho.

Could be a Dale Earnhardt tribute decal, as he was a driver for Dale in the Busch series in 1999 & 2000, as well as the Truck series 1995-1999.

1732695927206.png John andretti had a different decklid logo then the usual "chex" logo. This was during the 2nd richmond race.

Chevrolet Monte Carlo 400 2001 - Google Chrome 27_11_2024 15_28_18.png jeff gordon's buggs bunny car also had a Tonight Show logo on the rear windows. The one i have is a "rainX slice" logo

It's 'SuperValue'. Not sure of the other small decals however.

It seems that the #43 did something similar as the #32 did, where they promoted local chain-stores that carried their product. I know @ Dover2, the #43 had Acme Markets Inc on the trunk.

Yup, the dover 2 car is already painted for NR2003, but the richmond 2 hasnt and i'm not sure if there are other races where they did this.

1732721081853.png not a noticeable detail, but johnny benson's 500 car has some sort of design in the front left and right area of the bumper, his roof number would end up being red-orange in the race.

That was the planned full time scheme for 2001, but for some reason, the decided to drop that front end part of the scheme. EXCEPT for the SS races.

Yep, I know. I painted it. lol.

I can add a few more to the list where Chex wasn't on the trunk of the #43 in 2001 (regular paint scheme only):

1. Atlanta1 - some 'special' version of the Kroger logo
2. Fontana - Albertsons (logo + name)
3. Texas - unknown, but it wasn't the Chex logo for sure. No clear picture on Getty.
4. Dover1 - unknown, but it wasn't the Chex logo for sure. No clear picture on Getty. Looks to be some 'red' logo (& smaller than the normal Chex logo with some extra text below it), but isn't Acme like @ Dover2.
5. Chicagoland - Cub 43 Racing (a sub-brand of SuperValue). 2001 logo (2) seemed to have more of a 'white' background/outline, while the 2002 version lacked it.
6. Bristol2 - Food City
7. Kansas - Some big 'red' block logo, but can't make out the text in it.
8. Talladega2 - Chex, but w/ blue trunk & all blue rear.
9. Phoenix - not 100%, but looks like it could be a giant Albertsons logo.
