So, as some of you have pointed out in the past, if you are attempting to run NR2003 on a newer operating system, the older No-CD Patch will no longer work. Instead, it will boot up the game, and will then crash when you go to a race and attempt to hit 'drive'. Now, there's two different ways to fix this. The No CD patch below eliminates the need to disable DEP, which many have been doing in order to get NR2003 to run.

The newer No-CD patch is tested and works perfectly fine on newer systems (I myself am running NR2003 on Windows 10), so no worries about having to disable DEP.

Newer No-CD patch available here.

Hopefully this helps anyone out who is having issues!

Thanks for posting this! I tried the "no cd patch" a few times before with no luck. This one worked perfectly with no trouble on my Windows10 laptop. Now I can finally take my Nr2003 disc out of the drive and put in back in it's case for safe keeping.`6`
Glad to be of help guys. I only have a burned copy of the game, but even then, it's best to keep that away for necessities. Discs sadly don't last forever.

Try restarting your computer. Sometimes the system needs to reboot.

I'll give it a try after work. Thanks
Restarted and now it works again. I should try the easy fixes first, thanks for your advice

The reason why some can't disable the DEP is because some new Windows 10 systems are installed under the new UEFI BIOS.
Which means this has to be disabled in the BIOS 1st,What needs to be disabled is called Secure Boot.
Once this is disabled you can open CMD with admin privileges. And drop this in bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff
And exit CMD and reboot,Then put in the No CD Patch and it will work.

Link to working No CD Patch here:

Except there's no reason to do all that with the link I posted that has a no cd patch designed to work with newer operating systems.

I know this is an old thread, but I don't see this question brought up in it:

Which folder do I need to install this patch to again? Just the standard NR2003 folder?

This is a replacement .exe file, it goes in the main Nascar Racing folder, careful to move the existing .exe out before placing this one in there..

Thank you! Figured it was worth mentioning for any other player who might need an answer on the interwebs.

P.S. This patch fixed the issue I had personally been having! :)
(Windows 10 2017 Fall Update was causing the [dreaded] DRIVE crash).

I've been giving that new exe to a few of my friends who are on win10 or win 8 and so far every time has been a success. Don't often see a website host those files, that site also hosts, a download of the entire NR2003 game. Is that okay to do these days? I mean, the game hasn't been able to be sold since 2004. I can't imagine anyone caring but the fellas over at iRacing sure got weird about modification/availability in the past.
