kinda stumbled on this by accident.
when using a widescreen...
the field of view slider actually controls depth of view, aka farclip, aka popups.
so ~ when using a widescreen resolution set the FOV slider to 65 for less popups / farther depth of view.
if your system struggles to run the game ~ set it to 78 for less depth of view / more popups.
