1968 Trans Am @ Daytona car set for the DMR snsc70 mod (.cts physics)
After I lost my almost completed complete 1968 Trans Am car set to the stupid Windows 10 anniversary update debacle...I have to admit to being very discouraged...I doubted that I would start this one over, but it kept nagging at me. The 1968 Trans Am was a fantastic season and is largely credited as creating the monster success and winning season for Mark Donohue and Penske Racing...there is perhaps no more iconic a Trans Am racing car than that 1968 blue Sunoco Camaro that Donohue would pilot to an unbelievable 10 victories out of 13 race schedule in '68.
It had to be redone.
BUT I promised myself that I would release the two oddball race sets, they being the first and second races at Daytona and Sebring, separately. They were endurance races and the car numbers make them a difficult fit with the rest of the seasons sets.
So here is the Daytona 24 Hour set.
My battle with the Jerry Titus #1 Shelby Racing Mustang is well documented, so I'll not rehash that here...
This set includes my #51 driver Mustang, it is noted on the readme, that it is NOT on the in-game set list...use it or not, up to you.
CREDITS:
Thanks to Denis and his band of pirates for creating this darn near Trans Am mod...I don't know where I'd be without his mods!
All the paints are mine, most of the logos and contigs are mine except those that came of that Turn 4 Graphics '70s sheet...Love that! I've actually added so many contigs to theirs that I no longer remember who's are who's
The Mercury Cougar template for the #7 Billy Hagan car is mine, cobbled up as it were on the Mustang model...
ENJOY!

TRANS AM RULES!
I'd like to say it gets easier with every car, doing a re-do, but it really isn't, at least not so far...I have very strong feelings about this set and it is a "must do" for me...I also have to "get back on the horse" where the 1988 set is concerned and it was only really just started with I think 12 cars completed.
This morning I'm staring at the list of cars for the Sebring set and know I have to open a template and just start painting...that's the only way i can get this behind me so i can get back to that excited feeling of doing the set.
It sucks to be driven at times...
Sometimes there is more labor than love in a "labor of love"...not that i don't really cherish these cars, because I truly do...
Time to open a template...
