The orange makes me think UV protection, like those old school orange goggles when you are skiing. I love the clear fence idea though that is really cool!
On the actual Ice Planet 2002 Lego sets, the transparent neon orange *LIT UP* when you put them in the snow, and it was an amazing contrast to the blue/white color theme it had. Wouldn't surprise me if that's where the idea came from though. If you've heard of the orange transparent chainsaw, you know what Ice Planet 2002 was famous for.

The track was posted here some time ago. I am thinking about doing minor touchups on it.

My car for the 1997 Knoxville Nationals cars. It's pretty slow going because in addition to having a hard time finding references and logos, these cars had small time sponsors that in many cases can't even be identified. Needless to say this set will not be terribly accurate (though I am trying). I don't know if I will release it yet or not.

@DaleTona With regards to template mods, your on the right track looking at your NNC Toyota.

Finding photos of the area of detail and maybe choosing a team to use as a guide as most teams differ (I do this for Contingency layout). I always change the skirts on most temps, adding bolts etc, maybe update the spoiler, then adding other parts through the template that are used by most teams.

As for the body lines (panel gaps) I always use a black (RGB 0,0,0) 100% opacity and normally 1 pixel (maybe 2 depending on the area or template ratio)

2004 Dodge Intrepid.png
Mostly final 2004 Dodge Intrepid template for NNC07. I subdued some of the shading effects as on dark cars the light was too overpowering while on bright ones the dark shading around the bottom was too noticeable. I will go back and likely revise some of my other templates to remedy this issue as well.

Almost everything here is mine except for some ss.net parts from the original template(mainly small odds and ends) and the rear taillights which are from a Brian Simpson template (I will probably replace them with my own light decals if/when I find a good reference image to work from.)

I'm honestly enjoying template creation, as there is a lot of nuance in the art beyond slapping decals on an existing base and calling it a day.
