He was SEN this morning hinting that he wanted to do the Bathurst 12 Hour and get other seat time before stepping back into co-driving for Whincup at the 1000.
There are no other co-driver events slated for 2021.
I think Carrera Cup is more likely unless Triple 8 are gonna run three Super2 cars (they've already signed Feeney and Mozouris)

Lowndes also didn’t rule out the possibility of some Super2 guest appearances to help his transition back into the Red Bull Ampol Racing Holden Commodore for its last outing at Mount Panorama.
“We could do a couple of wild cards, from what I understand,” he said. “They definitely could be useful."

There we go... my spidey sense was tingling.

Craig Lowdnes - 1999
Garth Tander - 2007
Shane Van Gisbergen - 2021

5 race streaks - they are rare but not unheard of.
There are no 6s.

Nuts Rumour for Gen 3:
5.4L Coyote derivative
6.0L LS/LT derivative

What makes this even more nuts is that LS3 isn't even likely to be sold here in a new car. GM currently do not sell anything in Australia and while GMSV have planned to sell C8 Corvette, that was planned before they had a bust up with Walkinshaw Engineering.

I don't understand why they want production derivatives when GM don't sell cars and Ford put the 5.0L Coyote into their Mustang.

Supercars has today confirmed the Gen3 race cars are targeted for inclusion in the Repco Supercars Championship in August 2022.
...
Supercars thanks fans for their ongoing interest and looks forward to showcasing the various stages of the Gen3 program during upcoming broadcasts and the Supercars.com website and socials channels as we ramp up information and imagery surrounding the project.

- Supercars, 4th Jun 2021

Forgive my scepticism but these people couldn't organise a fry-up in a butcher's shop. Over the last 24 hours there's been rumour and counter rumour flying about regarding engine supplies and parity and I just think that Supercars management has got no idea what they're doing.

At this point, they should just adopt Gen 7 NASCAR as a pre-bought thing; with the Supercars rear wing on the back and call it a day. The average punter at home doesn't care.

Murphy/Stanaway as a wildcard for Erebus at Bathurst - #51.

Lowdnes is in #88. Tander is in #97. Ingall is in #39. Now all we need is Ambrose, Crompton and Skaife to start punching on in the booth.

DJR - without Penske's help, wants to run 5.4L Coyote derivative V8s in Gen-3.
RBR - without GM's help, wants to run 5.7L destroked LS3 derivative V8s in Gen-3.

Supercars could have bought in on Gen-7 NASCAR.
Supercars could have bought in on Mother Chassis and GT3 rules.
Supercars could have bought in on TA2 rules.

NOPE.

There aren't just roos loose in the top paddock - this is a whole roo infestation with cricket boundary ropes for fences.
This isn't just a clown show - this is the whole circus with honours from Clown University.

Oh this is fun.

If the Camaro is discontinued in 2022, then it will have have the same honour as the VL Walkinshaw Commodore SS Group A SV? That is, it will have gone racing after being discontinued.

That would be ironic considering what effort they put into putting the Camaro in the SuperCar series. But considering they are using the discontinued Commodore now, it would not surprise me at all.

The information that I have is that Broc Feeney is expected to replace Jamie Whincup as the pilot of the #88 (888?) for 2022.

Jamie Whincup is stepping down and will appear atop the box at Triple Eight Engineering and replace Roland Dane.

Yet again, I've been passed over for this job... it might be because I have zero touring car experience at any major level... dang.

Worst decision in T8 history. They've put a 19 year old with one main game race into the single most high pressure seat in Supercars. If he doesn't crash and burn, he'll be an all time great, but I don't see it happening
