Update:

Well, I already managed to find everything (and a little more) I was looking for, for NR2, NR3 and Nascar Legends. Please, I don't want to abuse, I just would like to ask if the following ever existed:

NR3: carset 1999 or 2002 (I found two excellent sets from 1991 and 1992 that I didn't know existed, including cars.dat that fits the sets);

NR2: any carset between 1990 to 1995;

Honestly, not that I remember. Just a few cars here and there on IWCCCARS and other sites for example.

Thanks!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a long, very long period playing NR2003 and console games, I slowly returned to my true passion: Nascar Legends.

I'm revisiting several sites. Some still work, others are gone but thanks to WayBack I was able to recover a lot of files, such as the other 16 tracks to complete full calendar. It took a lot of time...

Now, what I'm looking for is: I remember there was an updated version of cars.dat for Nascar Legends. Please, does anyone have this file somewhere? I remember the cars were a little lower, and if my memory serves me, I think they updated other things here and there. Well... it's been around for 20 years...

Thank you very much.

I'll look later when I get home. I actually have the game installed on my computer. That game was one of the first that started me modding games. I think I spent more time modding it than racing. I added all the tracks for the season as well as the cars, and a bunch of other mods I probably don't remember.

Cool, really thanks a lot! I started in NR1 in 90s, downloading carsets from 1995 and 1996 if I'm not mistaken in IWCCCARS (which still exists)... Also, at the height of Nascar Legends and NR3 (early 2000s) were the I spent the most time downloading and installing mods. There was a lot, and it was a simpler time. Nowadays, reading the readme.txt, I remember the names, I even believe they are on the forum.

I had a lot preserved, carsets and trucksets for NR1, NR2/1999, NR3 and NL. But when I migrated to NR2003, I ended up deleting everything I had some time later. At the time i didn't care, but looking back now, I regret it... Luckily I was able to find some gems that I had at the time for Nascar Legends, like improved .dats for Darlington, Michigan, Riverside and Talladega.

This is what I have saved away on an external hd for NL. https://www.mediafire.com/file/0rsy7exoqhbgd8c/NascarLegaddons.zip/file
Some info here https://web.archive.org/web/20011204043635fw_/http://www.theuspits.com/fbody/nascar/index.html
Looking at what it tries to download from the archive (unsuccessfully) it seems to be nlcar.zip and NLmodV3.zip you're looking for?

For some reason I also have nlcar.zip and nlcar_old.zip in the cars folder (no idea why I put them there :p) but from the readme in NLmodV3 apparently it should only be applied to nlcar, not nlcar_old. I don't think I ever installed any of it so I have no idea what most of it is.

I already opened the file and explored the .zip of cars.dat. The difference at first is that in addition to being lowered, one has the original wheels (nlcar_old) and the other has new wheels. This one in particular I sank for days into Wayback but the links to this cars.dat were broken. It was exactly what I was looking for! The other files I'll explore calmly... There's a lot of material, from the time of my 1st university, before a wife, son, car, Xbox... Really a huge thank you for the help! :)

Glad I could help :) I'm not sure if the N@50 files are for NL or N2 or something?
As I recall, it's for NR2. But I also intend to test it... I can see that I'm going to spend many days exploring your files and the suggested site! :)

It must have been more than 15 days that I've been hunting things. So far, I've managed to recover some things, which I consider a victory, given the age of games and sites:

Daytona and Pocono for NR3;

Daytona, Indianapolis and Pocono for NR1999 (which strangely is freezing on these 3 tracks after the race starts when using nGlide);

Plus a host of other things I didn't know existed.

Just remembering that 15-20 years ago this was found in a few clicks, but now...

Sorry, I checked my computer and I don't have the files on it. I believe most of my NASCAR Legends files are all on LS120 floppy discs. Like I said, I do have the game installed on my current computer with all the mods that I had back in the day. Would it help if I uploaded my car.dat file?

No problem! In fact, I already managed to find the cars.dat I was looking for in the file shared by Riviera71 above... Thanks a lot for your help :)

I checked but I have nothing in terms of car sets for N2, N3 (or N1999 for that matter), just some tracks.
srmz seems to be gone so maybe this https://www.icr2.net/forum/index.php is the best place to ask? They have a N1 subforum so it's possbile someone there have something.

Interesting, I'll check it out, thanks!

I've been thinking of putting here the links I found, for those who might be interested. But I don't know if this is allowed nowadays.

Just what are you looking for 1999 and 2002 or 1991and1992

Thank you very much for the files! They look very interesting, I'm going to start exploring...

In fact, at the moment I would just like to know if it ever existed a carset from 1990 to 1995 for the NR2/1999. I found two sites where they apparently have the sets, but the links no longer work even with Wayback. Very old sites, 20 years old...

Other than that, I managed to recover everything I had.

NR3 1991 and 1992 I had found on the website below. I didn't know these sets existed.

1999 and 2002 for n3

Thank you very much! I was looking for 2002 but the links didn't work even with Wayback.

Thank you very much for the links... I had already explored them too. :)

In fact, so now it's over. With contributions, I've managed to recover all the items I had...

Thank you all very much for your contribution!
