I remember making this same car for the Gen6 mod and I give you made props... limited resources for it and a lot of hard work going into the logos and such! Great work!
Thanks, Man. I appreciate it - and yeah, this one took a while. It was a saga... I was working off of images of the diecast and showcar that was unveiled at the promotional announcement - which got me about 80% of the way there.
I was able to find a couple repositories of actual character images used in a lot of the Toy Story 2 marketing material (which is where I found the correct Jessie, Woody and Bullseye for the hood and the Bullseye for the side) and the "Woody" logo was traced off of some toy packaging from the time found on ebay. I hand drew the sheriff star based on the references I had - but man.... that main Woody image for the side was just NOWHERE.
I kept stumbling across the one you used - the like 3/4 running pose which seemed to be from one of the more recent movies - but my OCD wouldn't let me settle! Lol. The FIRST glimmer of hope I had was finding out that the side-profile running pose was used on a promotional collectors pin offered at McDonald's during the movie opening. The images on ebay weren't good enough to work from so I spent $3 hoping I might be able to scan the pin and make it large enough to use.... no dice there. The pin was maybe the size of a quarter and the shiny gold backing made working from the scan impossible.
BUT!!!!!
Tossing that scan of the pin into a reverse image search earned me the ultimate prize - a high-res raster of what I'd already been searching for fruitlessly for like months
So there ya have it - the epic saga of the (probably waaaaay too over the top) effort I put into dredging up the period correct character graphics,
The upside is - once I had everything - I put it to even better use by producing a waterslide decal set of the graphics!
