This scheme is recreation of Kyle Petty who at the time was penalized five laps for hitting the rear of Ted Musgrave's car on a restart halfway through the Coca-Cola 600 and Sabates protested with a penalty awarded by NASCAR official. The following race, the Miller 500 at Dover, Kyle Petty's #42 car showed up painted just like Dale Earnhardt's #3. Why? Sabates feel Earnhardt had also done the same at the race a few weeks earlier and missed a penalty from the NASCAR official. This scheme originally appeared on a Kyle Petty's #42 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix by Team SABCO (June 2, 1996. Miller 500 at Dover Downs International Speedway in Dover, Delaware.). Enjoy
