Well since only one person commented on my Atlanta Thread (Thanks @Rollo75 ).... Lets try this one?

Did anyone enjoy the Dage Race? it was 175 laps of 2 by 2... Really!! That's not racing. All the passing seem to happen on pit road. I had thought about going today, glad I didn't. The Racing was terrible and NASCAR has to find a way to fix this.

Anyway, any thoughts on the racing today? or the yellow wreck fest yesterday in the Xfinity race. :)

No.
5/5 wrecks in this race were caused when someone was pushing someone else.

Look, I know that "rubbin' is racin'" but "'reckin' isn'e".
Granted, there is a case to be made that Bubba's block on Blaney wasn't due to a push but still.

Kyle Busch won this year in the same circumstances that Ross Chastain won this same race last year. It's a block that doesn't need to be made, predicated by a push that doesn't need to be made.

This is not a problem with the cars but the eejitacious competition rules. Ban pushing and all of this goes away.

I agree the wrecking may go away, Wallace caused that wreck yesterday when he tried blocking and was to late moving back up, Blaney was on his way by him. Sad thing is, the only way these cars seems to pass is by pushing, they can't get out of each others way. Once again, this isn't racing.

This was said in the Shoutbox - @M_Nesevitch: Hardest hit between cars I think I've ever seen. Even the Newman crash didn't have that much rollbar damage, iirc? Crazy hit, glad it was passenger side and they're ok.

I was at Dega in the the early 80"s, Buddy Baker was leading (I Think it was him)... anyway leader blow right front tire, Baker(leader) got t-bone, big wreck. Cale had stop in front strecth, out of no where, he got hit in drivers door what looked to be at full speed, both car went from start/finish line all the way to turn 1. All the car hits sounded like bombs going off. But the hit on Cale was as hard as Larson's yesterday.

The passenger's side of the car is just tubing. The driver's side of the car on Gen7 has box-plating reinforcement.
This accident has crumpling and intrusion into a space where there is no flesh meatbag. This suggests to me that this area has been designed to crush and deform under impact.

J = F/t
That is: Impulse = Force / time.
If Force is known (because the speeds of the cars and the weight of the cars is known), then you can decrease Impulse by having the Force applied over a longer timeframe. To reduce J, increase t.

I absolutely expect that if this happened on the driver's side, there wouldn't have been any intrusion and the fact that this crumpled, has meant that the impulse of the crash has been lessened.
This is the same high school physics problem as throwing an egg out of the fourth storey window. Make the impact over a longer timeframe by having your protection deform and or break.
