If you took over as CEO of NASCAR what changes would you make to grow the sport back to where it once was as a top 3 sot in America?

I would move the Xfinity cars to Cup(give a little extra HP too) and move the Gen6 cars to the Xfinity series...

I would cut some races. I think this would lower costs for the teams per season, and allow teams to hire drivers based on talent as opposed to financial/the sponsorship they bring. In turn I think it would make races more competitive. 36 races is just way too many.

I also think the grind of 36 race for a lack of a better term “turns off” many drivers. Caused some to retire early etc.

Even just cutting it to 30 I think would make a huge difference. The less we have of something, the more we want it.

I am looking at the PGA vs LIV. All the big guns jumping ship cite time off and more time with family. Phil Mickleson, Brooks Koepka, Bryson, Dustin Johnson, Sergio, all big golf names who made the jump.

I'd go unrestricted at plate tracks. (Or at least let them go 210ish) Safety has come a long way. They really don't fear anything but tearing up equipment.
I'd up the HP everywhere else.
I'd scrap the 18" 1 lug wheels and massive brakes.
I'd set gear ratio's that prohibit shifting anywhere but RC's.
I'd bring back practice sessions w/ actual setup changes and traditional 1 round qualifying.
I'd start all east coast day races at 1pm est.
I'd drop all RC races except Sonoma, The Glen, and 1 more "traditional" RC.
I'd turn California into a premier short track. No gimmic "narrow" Martinsville crap. Maybe a 1/2 mile Homestead or something.
I'd run 2 races at Dover.
Season bonus points carry into round 1 only. Any you carry to round 2 you have to earn in round 1 and so on.
Championship would be determined in final 3 races. Points winner takes all.
Playoff schedule would rotate tracks year to year.
Every caution is a "quicky" caution. No more riding around 2-3 laps before they open the pits, then 2 more, then another.. Get back to racing as fast as possible.
Cars have 1 "base" paint scheme, regardless of sponsor. (And maybe 1 alternate they can run a couple times a year.)

Split the money three ways between NASCAR, the Tracks, and the teams. I also agree on cutting the race schedule down. I'd also put the trucks on tracks 1 mile or shorter. I'd force drivers to go through a rating system where you had to achieve a certain status after two years of racing in a lower series to move up to a higher series.

I would simplify things by ruling that only street "stock" cars could race. Less os more.

Maybe divide the main category into series, sedans, hatchbacks, statin wagons, muscle, SUV, or make it a kind of access where maybe muscle would be the top.

I would put it by age, for example at least 30 to go to the main, and have "x" years experience in lower categories.

1. Remove all playoffs completely NO CHASE EITHER
2. For pete's sake give up cars horsepower back, I'm kinda for quadruple digit horsepower
3. Unrestrict superspeedway races (but smaller motor) / use 2001 package
