Another weekend in Virginia and another scoring bonanza to delight the 23 Pick'em players who entered Martinsville. This average was even better than last weekend at Richmond. How about an average score of 200.52 points? In some races nobody in the entire field scores 200 or more. Like last week, the top of the board is rather congested. Didn't have any 4 way ties this time but there was a tie for 3rd place. It's another week where a successful Xfinity pick leapfrogged someone into victory. This time it made our first repeat winner of 2024. When you're seemingly always up front, you're going to have those opportunities. Taking home win #2 of 2024 in race #8 by a scant 1 point was db512 who scores win #2 and top 10 #7 of 2024. Only 1 time has db512 not finished in the top 10 so far this year and we're about 30% through the regular season already. Look up 'consistency' in a dictionary and you'll see db512. The agony of defeat goes to rookie QBoi who missed the win by a single point but does earn a playoff point. Also earning playoff points were Connor24fan and Highbank who tied for 3rd place. Cola83 rounded out the top 5 at the paper clip.

Congrats to @db512 on the win!

That heralded consistency already had db512 in the points lead. Now the rest of the field squints to see db512 98 points ahead of everybody. Mariner and Ackbarfan maintain 2nd and 3rd, though they're only 10 points away from each other now. Like at Martinsville Connor24fan and Cola 83 finish out the top 5.

It wasn't a great day for the rookie brigade. QBoi carried the banner but the other 5 rookies all finished 15th or lower. Even though the victory wasn't to be, QBoi didusedthe runner up finish to slash Kevmire's rookie points lead down to 46 over QBoi. Stueylouey also gained a little ground on the leader and is 53 points back of the lead. ClarkG27 has made to 4th despite having 1 less start than now 5th place BriscoeFan14. Those two and Nascar20 eagerly anticipate race 18 where they'll start to even out with the leaders and fight it out during the 2nd half of the season.

That'll about do it from Martinsville. Let's see how the full results shook out.

Thanks to everybody who entered Martinsville! Hope to see you all back and more this coming weekend as the traveling circus heads back to the Lone Star State for some oval track racing at Texas Motor Speedway.
