Alright, I'm calling this Jeff Sellers car done for now or this thing is going to eat up another weeks worth of time. There are 2 stickers missing on the quarter that I can (mostly) confirm were on the car for Sonoma. I am waiting for my friend Al to get back home from visiting with Chuck Welch (who drove Jack Sellers 2nd car for years). Oddly enough, while doing this car, Al was practically walking out the door to fly from Wisconsin to California to hang out with Chuck. lol.

Anyways, Al is probably the best chance at identifying those last 2 stickers. If he can't, the car will remain in this form, which is plenty good enough in the long run. Time to move onto Ed Ferree & Rich Bickle (another WI area driver!)

So... About the 45 cars. Ed Ferree started only at Watkins Glen on the Ferree Chevy-Pontiac-Buick Chevrolet, qualifying in 30th and finishing in 29th place, 1 lap down. This was his first official NASCAR Winston Cup Series start after failing to qualify the previous year at The Glen. He would have tried to qualify at Charlotte fall on the 05 car, but he DNQ'd. In 1993 he would have done 2 more starts at Rockingham and at The Glen always in the 05 car. His last attempt would have been at Rockingham fall in '93, where he DNQ'd.

About the 45 car of Rich Bickle, he made 3 starts at North Wilkesboro, Charlotte fall and the Hooters 500. He tried to qualify at Martinsville too, but he DNQ'd. His best race was at North Wilkesboro where he finished in 20th place, 5 laps down. At the Hooters 500 he was involved in the wreck that ultimately took out of the race Richard Petty in his final start.

Welp, that takes care of Ed Ferree. Most of the time in this car was in the lines over the fenders (onto the "hood" area of the template) and drawing a new Ferree logo. Drew some new numbers for it and recreated the Wolf's Head decal. Bickle's car should be pretty straight forward, too.

I'm a big fan of these random one-off types. I wonder if the #05 he DNQ'd the fall Charlotte race with was more or less the same.

Being from Wisconsin, I've seen Rich Bickle drive a lot in the past with ASA, ARTGO, as well as other late model and super late model events around the area. I enjoyed putting together the car because the research took me through a lot of his old photos from the 80's and early 90's. Some cars I didn't know existed, some I hadn't seen in decades. Pretty cool. On the other hand, I did look through about 300+ photos. So I am also very effing over it. lol. Anyways, onto the next! ***EDIT*** Son of a crap. I forgot the rookie stripe/tape. No bother. Already updated it. I'll throw a photo below in the Car Viewer of it on.

Beautiful paintscheme.
Now it's the number 47 turn, and this time we are going with another NASCAR veteran of the series who did his final starts in 1992, Buddy Baker. His final races were with Close Racing. They did 5 attempts for the Daytona 500, Atlanta on spring, the Winston 500 at Talladega, Darlington and finally in Michigan. In those last 2 attempts, Baker DNQ'd. In fact, Baker drove an Oldsmobile in 4 of the 5 attempts, apart from Talladega where he started with a Chevrolet sponsored by Kanawha Insurance, which sponsored him also when he DNQ'd in Michigan on an OIdsmobile. I think that this car was already made for the original 1992 carset, so it shouldn't be too difficult the realization of the 3 versions that I was able to find.

P.S.: Baker actually made 3 extra attempts to qualify in 1993 and 1994. In 1993 he drove the n.46 DuPont Chevy of Hendrick Motorsports at Talladega. In 1994 he drove the n.20 Ford of Moroso Racing for the Daytona 500 and at Atlanta, then he definitely retired from NASCAR after these 3 DNQ's.

Buddy Baker is good to go. Whether sponsorship comes through or not!

It is clear that the sponsored version of the car had a different contig arrangement for the fender. But, I've not been able to find any photos where Baker isn't standing directly in the way so... screw it. Unless something emerges, for now the contigs for the fender will be identical to the Daytona car (the non-sponsored one). The front portion by the nose stayed the same so, at least that portion is accurate. The quarters are also correct. Time to move onto the next.

Fellas fear not. I'm not dead, despite my best efforts. Got a few other things slowing me down for about a week. Including that bum @CC#48 . Lol. We're about to release a bunch of his new templates he just completed. They're great, too! Regular painting shall resume in a couple days for the 1992 set. I wonder if we can get this finished up by June. I started it last June. A lofty goal, but we'll aim for it.

No rush, I think at the end the wait will be worth for what is going to be realized, and the community will love it. I've waited 4 years to see the launch of a movie about the unceremoniously defined worst F1 team of all time, the story of the Andrea Moda Formula. Funny how that story came out of 1992 season too, lol. Anyway, the wait was worth.

Basically a bunch of independent italians did all the researches after hearing the story of this team in a pub back in 2019 and now it's available on Vimeo (you have to pay to watch the 3 episodes of 45 minutes). They were massively slowed down because of the pandemic, then as soon as they started to search and to ask about this story, they've discovered a massive amount of unseen filmed footage, hundreds of unseen pictures, unthinkable archives and so on. Plus, they had some problems with F1 that initially denied them the access to their archives, but then a few things changed and they were even able to interview the F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali.

Alright. A couple busy weeks took me away from digital paint schemes. Hylton has 4 entirely different numbers. I've finished 3 of them as of last night. I would have finished all 4, but a cat jumped in my lap and laid across my arms. So, I was powerless to continue.

I think you mean the cat jumped on your keyboard breaking it instead, right? :p x'D

I know that. Usually in my Draft Master races I have one of my 3 cats as co-drivers... My personal Jocko Flocko :D
