How do I change the background of my NR2003 homescreen?

I'm trying to change the background of my home screen in nr2003. I found a video from like 2012, but could not get what was said in the video to work (converting a .bmp file to a .stp file and placing it inside the series folder of the mod youre trying to change). Any advice is much appreciated

Did you use winmip2 to convert it to an .stp file? File must be named mainback.stp.. "rename it in winmip", Also the image needs to be 800x600. If ya can't figure it out, let me know.

I did all of that except the Winmip part. Every time i try to use Winmip it just doesn't open, I'm not sure why

Also the image needs to be 800x600.

Pretty sure it can be bigger. I've got backgrounds at 1280x1024.

so I got winmap to work, and then exported the image as a .stp file, but now when I load nr its just a black screen with no working buttons. Did I break the game lmao

@TeaJay Designs I put your image on my 'mainback' style template.

Save the image and covert it using WinMip2. Let know how it goes.

Here ya go, worked in my game. put in your series folder, remember to rename your original in case you want to ever go back to it.

Hmm... strange. Not sure whats up. Never had that issue before. Stupid question.. you did extract the mainback.stp from the rar into the series folder of the mod you want to use it on right?
Im sure you did. On my way to work but I'll look more into in when I get home in the morning.

yeah I did. I'm not sure what the problem is either. I have no buttons and its just a plain black screen
