Getting rid of those pesky jagged lines is a must especially if you want to post some cool screen caps. Also when you're driving in the sim, who wants to see blurry cars? Not me! Well this video (one of several out there) is the one I've used and I feel good about the results...

Thanks to "TheBenCrazy" we can have some nice quality vissuals in NR2003...

Here are the changes suggested in the video

Go to your NR 2003 installation folder, and open the Core.ini file with Notepad. Then look for these parameters and enter the values below:
  • CacheSize=14194304
  • MaxBlockSize=524288
  • PoolSize=524288
Then save.

Next, find Rend_dxg.ini. Locate and alter the following:
  • AnisotropicLevel=0
  • TextureSetSize=-1
Then save.

Next, go to the players folder, and look for your player.ini file in your active profile folder. Locate and alter the following:
  • car_detail=2
  • draw_ahead_distance=100
  • draw_behind_distance=100
  • enable_CarMegaShader=1
  • enable_ShadowVolumes=1
  • render_speed_weight=0
  • texture_quality=100
  • import_textures_with_compression=0

I would add this tidbit...

In the comments for the video a NoGrip.com user "Guimengo" suggest these changes in addition to those in the video and listed above in the text, here is what he posted:

Note - Unlike the video recommends, in your graphics card control panel, set the items below as:
- Frames Ahead: 1
- V-Sync disabled

I made the changes suggested and they seemed to have improved my screenshots. I'll put some up in my showroom soon. Thanks for taking the time to post this. The written instructions were especially helpful as I too had trouble keeping up with the video.

I have found that it works better for me to have V-sync turned on, I also don't use -1 for texture set size, I use the texture set size calculator to get my size. Everything just looks better this way. My computer and graphics card are old so maybe that makes a difference. I am still using an nVidia GeForce 9800 GT (1 gig) video card.

Heads up everyone, these also work with NR4 and NR2002, if you wanna make the graphics on those look a bit better. Obviously not as hi-quality as NR2003, but much better than default.

I'm running Nr2003 with a Radeon R9 380. However, the sim suffers from a lot of stutters when using any driver newer than 16.11.5.

Anyone having the same issues?

Did you check out the video Highbank posted at the top of this page, it may help you out. Also, open your car files and check the car sizes, if they are more that say 3mb per car, you need to compress them with Winmip2, and the crews should not be any larger than 512 in size, anything larger than that you just can't see in the game. Winmip2 can be your friend.

Yes, I've been using these GFX fixes for a long time now. Makes a huge difference compared to the stock settings.

The game still stutters even when using vanilla content unfortunately. It might just be my trusty old R9 380, because the game runs fine on my son's RX 460 using Radeon's latest drivers.

I've rolled back to older drivers, but I can't take advantage of Radeon ReLive with these ones. It's a sacrifice I can live with. And the older drivers have no detrimental effect on some of the newer games I play.

Will it work with onboard graphics ? I haven't installed a graphics card yet.
By the way..... I have a Dell OptiPlex 790 MT I5 with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit 4 gb ram.
Any suggestions on a good graphics card ?
All I run on this CP is NR2003 and KSP.....
Thanks in advance for the help

Went with the Bencrazy video settings when I started having the ctd problems with the new 2017 mod. Seems to have helped stabilize the mod greatly, only getting a once and a while crash now.
