2017 was a rough year for the second Dillon brother. Scoring multiple top 20s but no top 10s. He never came close to Suarez and Jones in the ROTY battle. He competed with Germain once again in 2018. Doing about the same, just scoring one top 10 at the Daytona 500. In 2019 he made his move to RCR fulltime in replace for the retiring Ryan Newman. He had some big shoes to fill. But, he only did a bit better than he did in 2018. Scoring a few more top 10s and being fairly top 20 consistent. Still wasn't good enough to get him a chase spot. 2019-2021 were average as well. 2021 was his worst year. In 2020 he got his best finish of 2nd at Martinsville. He almost made the chase that year. He still has failed to make the chase and hopes to do so in 2022. But with his continuously diminishing equipment it is looking less-and-less likely that he will.

During 2017-2021 he stuck with RFR. In 2020 he finally got that second cup win, which also put him in the chase. It was a great point in RFR history because it broke their very long winless streak. He didn't do too bad in the chase either. Ending up finishing 10th overall. He never made the chase in 2018 or 2019. He did so again in 2020 winning a race during round 1 and he finished 9th overall. It looks like he'll end up making the chase again if he can keep his consistency up.

Chase has grown into the star he was expected to be. Throughout 2017-2022 he's brought his win total to 13, but yet he hasn't won a championship. He has made the final 4 though. There's no doubt that he is the top Chevy driver right now, even though William Byron is coming off last season looking to take that title from Chase. Unless an injury occurs, Chase will most likely make the chase. He hopes to make the top 4 again as well. The only difference of him now since 2017 is after NAPA went to Todd Gilliland, Bass Pro Shops moved to Chase after Monster started sponsoring Martin Truex Jr.

Brandon Jones finally made it to the cup series. His debut season was in 2020 to replace Ryan Newman whom after his win in 2017 couldn't win again and only made the chase once more in 2018. He never won his first NXS race, and so far in the cup series he hasn't either. Let alone making the chase. The RCR equipment (and talent) isn't where it needs to be at this point if they want to compete for wins on a regular basis. In an interview Brandon stated he'd like to get his first win in 2022 but it isn't looking promising. But hey, anything can happen in NASCAR.

His full backstory will be when I post his NXS ride. But to give a quick rundown, he is currently driving FT for Johnson-Sadler Motorsports in the NXS. Dale Jr was willing to give him time in a cup car for NSCS to gain experience for what he should expect when he gets bumped up come 2023. He has nobody wanting to sponsor him PT for super speedway races so Jr took it upon himself to slap his foundation logo on the car and self-fund it.

What an experience this has been! I only need to finish 5 drivers. Ryan Reed, Ben Kennedy, Christopher Bell, Brennan Poole and Ross Chastain.
Tomorrow I'll release William Byron and Blake Koch's schemes.

When I'm done the 2022 Cup Series I'll with the 2022 Truck Series. That should be a fun one to make ;)

William Byron has been the success story everyone predicted him to be. He made his cup debut in 2019, choosing to spend 2 FT seasons in the NXS. But in his rookie season he picked up 1 win, and did fairly well in the chase. 2020 was about the same, 1 win, decent in points. In 2021 some would say he was the class of the field for the first few races, although he did tone it down a bit he won 2 races and did really good and almost pulled off a top 5 in the points.

Blake Koch - Joe Gibbs Racing

Throughout 2017-2021 Blake Koch remained at Kaulig Racing. He managed to rack up 3 wins, 2 in 2020 and 1 in 2021 after Kaulig Racing moved to Toyota. This was enough to spark Joe Gibbs to have interest in him. Helping develop a car for Koch to run (labeled as a Kaulig Racing car) for some super speedways in 2021. When Denny Hamlin announced his retirement Blake Koch got the call to move up to the cup series once more in the renumbered #81. Hisense even came on as a FT sponsor. Koch isn't expected to do bad, how well he will do is unknown though.

Ryan Reed

Ryan Reed has definitely improved over the years. In 2018 he spent his last year down in the NXS. Where not only did he win Talladega, but he also won Pocono. Pulling off a 5th place in the championship standings. This ended up rewarding him a ride at Front Row Motorsports where he'd spend 2019 and 2020. No wins, 3 top 10s (each being at a super speedway), and he finished below 25th in the points both years. In 2021 he made the big move to Roush-Fenway Racing in Cup, bringing back the #16. It was an okay season for Ryan, he pulled off 4 top 10s but was fairly consistent rewarding him a 19th place finish in the points. He does hope to win his first Cup race in 2022.

Late bump, but is this still going to be finished? Sorry if I'm sounding impatient, I'm not trying to. I'm just wondering
