Davey Allison is complete! Feel free to click on the image to expand its size. Sammi drew Spot for me (from the 7up logo). It's in such a tiny spot on the car, I added spot to my logo so he could be seen. :)

Other than Spot which Sammi did, I've redrawn pretty much this entire car. Created new logos for the big T & circle, new Havoline(s) (hood & quarter/rear), New trunk 'Texaco System 3', new numbers, new CCD Transport logo, new 7up logos, & new Autolite logo.

Anyways, I'll come back to the other 27 cars, once research can be a bit more accurate. I haven't really looked for anything on the red car, yet. I have sent out photo requests to a couple different folks and response has been slow. So, we'll circle back.

Edit** - @Lastlap threatened to rough me up if I didn't add the jack post tape I had forgotten. So, I added it. :extremelyhappy:

One of the coolest and most iconic paintschemes in the field during the 1992 season. And this leads to some interesting things discovered a few days ago about the next entry, the 29 car!

We are talking about Diamond Ridge Racin. In 1992, the team participated in just a couple of races. Obviously those races were Sonoma and Phoenix:D The driver in both occasions was John Krebs, who finished 31st at Sonoma and 23rd at Phoenix.

On the Sonoma race, Krebs started with the number 99 on a Pontiac. Luckily enough, he was passed by Davey Allison during the race. At Phoenix, he started with the number 29 on a Chevy.

As a reference, I was unbelievably lucky to find that the 29 car was made in a 1992 Winston Cup Series carset but... For NASCAR Racing 3! (available on retrosim.e-monsite.com)

Luckily, there are some more pictures on Google of Diamond Ridge Racing with a clearer vision of the paintscheme base, even though they are from the 1990/1993-1994 seasons. Apart from the color of the roof and the change of the name from Diamond Ridge Racing to Diamond Ridge Motorsports, the rest seems to be pretty much unchanged.

Feel free to click on the images to see them up close, large marge scale.

John Krebs Winston West cars should be good to go. In the process of doing these cars, i noticed that John had sadly died just this past March. Fortunately, he'll run around in NR2003 for many years to come. No idea why they ran the number 99 at Sears Point. But they were back to the traditional 29 for the Phoenix race. The car in all renditions and for a few years was very similar. Racing switched to Motorsports being one of the notable changes. The other being the number style. The 2 basically stayed the same. But, the 9 started out being very rounded. Later versions it was much more squared off. Both side numbers leaned the same direction (to the right). Roof numbers were oriented without a slant.

Michael Waltrip complete! There was never much to the Pennzoil #30, so it was a quick on. I had already made most of the decals for the '96 rendition of the car, so it went even quicker. Did draw up a new All Pro logo, though. Surprised to find I hadn't already needed it in the past at all.

I did get a number of new reference photos sent to me, thanks to Chris Sullivan. The photos include a great number of cars I haven't gotten to yet as I roll through in numbered order. Should be a lot of useful stuff in getting everything together.

Obviously, everyone has noticed I'm rolling through numbered order. Anything I've skipped, it's typically due to the need for further research or a persistent lack of reference photos/videos. At the end of the first pass through, there will be a second pass through to make sure to get the cars that were skipped and ensure nothing has been missed. The final pass through will be to stick any open face helmets on drivers who ran opens, make any corrections from my corrections list, and complete all the pit crews.

Nice work! Since you started at #1 are you going to loop back and do Delma Cowart and other cars with preceding zero digits?

Excellent job and amazing news!

The next one is quite an interesting and fascinating entry, the 31 car of Team Ireland. Driven by Bobby Hillin Jr., it was another part-time underdog who made 11 starts throughout the season, and is the only non-american team who has participated at the NASCAR Winston Cup Series events in 1992 if I'm correct. Daytona (twice), Atlanta, Talladega, Charlotte (twice), Michigan (twice), Pocono, Watkins Glen and Darlington (twice. In the first one they DNQ'd).

They've competed with the support of Richard Childress Racing who supplied the engines, but the team closed due to lack of a stable sponsorship. In fact, there were quite some different paintschemes done in that season. Down below, some pictures.

Daytona: apparently they've had two versions of the car, pretty much unsponsored apart from the appearance of Mondello Park Circuit, the only race track in Ireland that I know. In fact Martin Birrane, owner of the team, at the time was the owner of Mondello Park Circuit too! (Credits to: Lee Johnson Collection)

Another two versions hosted in the Mondello Park Racecars museum. This version with B.R. DeWitt Inc. and Freedom Village USA 1-800 Victory, appeared at Watkins Glen. (Source: teamjuicyracing.com/dalyduo)

This version sponsored by SPAMBURGER, always exposed at the Mondello Park Racecars Museum, was used at Daytona in the summer for the Pepsi 400

This version, represented on a die-cast sponsored by MAXX Race Cards, it was used at Michigan International Speedway (Source: der-lustige-modellbauer.com)

This is the version used at Pocono for the Miller Genuine Draft 500, sponsored by Racing For Kids. Luckily, that day Bobby Hillin Jr. had an onboard camera on his car too, and we can notice how the inside of the car was in orange, plus we have a clear shot of the logo appeared in that race.

This version, sponsored by Bryant, was used in their last race at Charlotte Motor Speedway 2, where they were disqualified due to an illegal engine. After that, the team closed, and the 31 car came back in 1993 with Neil Bonnett at Talladega for Richard Childress Racing

As is tradition, all photos can be clicked on to expand and see 'em all blown up in size.

7 different renditions of the Team Ireland #31 car driven by Bobby Hillin, Jr. Had a lot of video to watch to confirm specific placement for some cars, to go along with the available photos. The Mondello Park logo went through a whole pile of different renditions. A few other notes. The tail panel of almost all cars except the Bryant car had the number on the left side rather than the right as most would choose to do. Most cars were the same on both sides, except the Racing for Kids Magazine version. Fortunately, I had already vectored the logo for the magazine for the 1996 set. Made that one quite easy to prep after video review.

Jimmy Horton is next. Followed by my favorite driver from the 80's and early/mid 90's! Looking forward to that one.

Jimmy Horton 1992 season saw him appear 11 times on track on a Chevrolet. He raced at Atlanta (both races), Dover, Pocono (both races), Michigan (both races), Richmond and Rockingham. He attempted, but failed, toqualify also for the races at North Wilkesboro and Martinsville. The best run was at Dover, where he finished 22nd, 26 laps down. I feel like there were some variants of the 32 car ran by him and Active Racing. The photo down below I'm not 100% sure if it's from '92 season.

tumblr_mhq7hoOItd1r6norio1_500.jpg

Curiously, there was another entry with the number 32 that year, Randy Porter! Driving with his own team Porter Racing, Randy Porter appeared in 5 races of that season. He competed with a number 32 Pontiac in the Coca Cola 600 and Richmond. On the 32 car, he managed to be classified 24th despite an engine failure. Apart from these 2 appearances, Porter elected to race with the number 37 car at Daytona, Pocono and Talladega during the summer. He failed to qualify twice at Daytona (where he ran with a Pontiac) and Pocono (where he ran with a Chevrolet). At Talladega, starting with a Pontiac, he finished the race 33rd, 8 laps down.

The 32 car pictured is from 93 most likely. I don't remember ATS being a sponsor for them in 92 but I could be wrong
I do have that hood logo vectored though if it is needed.

It is from 93. All good though. I got everything I need for the 92 car. Fortunately it was mostly the same for 96. Fist pump. Lol

Update to the black Butch Gilliland car's tail area. A couple Sears point photos unearthed. So, the white car has now been created, as well. Figured I'd do these in the lazy periods of Thanksgiving Day. Hope y'all are having a good Thursday. Photos can be clicked on for larger sizes.

Jimmy Horton is good to go. New numbers drawn, trunk sponsor, Crown Auto Parts logo, and other various newly drawn bits. I did end up finding a small bit of useful stuff for the Randy Porter car. One way or another a version of the Porter 35/37 cars will exist.

I didn't feel like taking the 3rd photo today. The other side is the same, except the number leans backwards.
