The Gold scheme from '97 is included in my setThe Platinum & Gold schemes in '98 were awesome alongside the Black!
I did a "what if" of that car on the 98 Taurus a little while ago. Honestly that should've been the primary from 1998 on, it is absolutely gorgeous. Brilliant job!Spencer's final ride of 1997 and his first with the change over to Winston cigarettes as a sponsor in a marketing lead up to the '98 season. I always felt like this was supposed to be the primary scheme for 1998 but it was supplanted pretty early by the straight red and white of the 'No Bull' design. It's a looker for sure with all of the gold chromed outlines and numbers.

I kinda wonder if this scheme suffered the same fate as the Cartoon Network Happy Birthday scheme on the #9. Nascar deemed that the cake splatter and confetti that was originally featured on the door and roof numbers obscured the numbers too much - which is why when the scheme ran later in the year with Nadeau driving it had much less icing and confetti on the sides and none overlying the numbers. It was the unveil scheme for the Taurus.
It's always interesting how things can change between practice/ qualifying photos and race day!Ah yes... The KFC Indy Blitz!!
A few additions for race day:
Bosch Spark Plus on b post, Comp Cams & 76 Performance Oil cont. Ya don't need Edelbrock.
Why waste the time & decals if they think they may not qualify, lol. It's always interesting how things can change between practice/ qualifying photos and race day!
